Annie Greenwood is an artist and educator based in Leeds.

Working predominantly with moving image and sound, Greenwood’s practice emerges out of ordinary life, drawing on her family home, which has housed several generations, and the rural landscapes of West Yorkshire that was central to her upbringing.

Through digitally mediated spoken word and text, she presents uncertain narratives, that resist resolution, circle back on themselves, venture down unknown paths and dwell in ambiguity. Her audiovisual installations are mindfully presented as domestic re-stagings, as she longs for what once was, while loving what is.

A nostalgic, sentimental feel runs throughout Greenwood’s practice, as she cements herself, and the audience in time, memory and place.
